Sometimes, ordinary people need a mention. People who go about their business and who do not grab headlines, pursue fame, notoriety or money. Such are the dentist, the mechanic and the call centre operator whom I have dealt with recently - ordinary folk who over the past weeks have shown acts of thoughtfulness, good manners and professionalism. We expect a lot of the people we meet, and rightly so. Sometimes the service is mediocre, other times downright poor, but occasionally, just occasionally, something positive stands out. This is my way of saying thanks for that.
