Toxic People
10. The Non-Believers
Worse than those who don’t dream are those who dream, but don’t believe that they can turn those dreams into reality. Those who don’t believe in themselves don’t amount to anything in life. They are the losers — those that are always there, but don’t influence the world. They live in a gloomy and depressing world where their lives are out of their hands. They go with the flow and never attempt to achieve any sort of success. Don’t rely on them to support you when you need the support, either. If they don’t believe in themselves, then they sure as hell won’t believe in you.

Hi.
ReplyDeletePashtunforums was down so on a hunch I thought I check your blog, and I'm disappointed to see you're copy and pasting internet articles that make no sense without citing the source.
Salaam. Copy/Paste ... hmm ... To be fair, I've acknowledged this but at the beginning of the series. I've added a citation here: http://torkhan.blogspot.com/2014/01/toxic-people.html
ReplyDeleteI took an original posting, which I found inspiring said that I would present it in smaller bits. Perhaps the mention of the source gets buried under the volume. With each post where the image changed, I've added a link to the source. I wanted to avoid clutter/repeating myself over and over with the a link to the text source, but point noted. What I perhaps need to do is somehow incorporate the text link into the last set of posts. I will think creatively, so thanks.
P.S. Who are you?

ReplyDeleteWas on the post I just mentioned, but now on all of them.
Tor_Khan, don't mean to be personal but I wonder what is it that you believe in?
ReplyDeleteYou seem like a serious person but with a lack of serious thoughts and ideas. Just an observation.
Salaam Wali,
ReplyDeleteThere's no such thing as being completely neutral. I have an opinion on practically everything (I think). But as you mature you come to realise that what you 'believe' today differs from what you thought last year. So it's wise to tread carefully. I'm generally a political cynic and avoid jumping in behind headline statements.
Salaam,
ReplyDeleteI don't believe in myself and that is my only virtue.
In other words, had I believed in myself, I'd be married to someone I did not even like, working a job that destroyed my soul and wasted my free time visiting Afghan relatives and having my brain cells destroyed in the process.
Since I don't believe in myself, I'm not arrogant enough to 'plan my life', and do what I'm supposed to do. I simply follow my destiny wherever it takes me, even if it takes me to hell, that is ok, at least that is my destiny.
But as a cynic you might find what I just said stupid, although every cynic is a former believer.
